Roger Cotton

Roger Cotton is a local photographer who specializes in action sports, volume sports, and live events with on-site printing. He and his wife have run their home-based photography business for over 15 years and have worked hard to establish their brand as a mark of excellence.

Roger began his photography adventure on a whim. In the late 80’s, as a new student entering high school, the yearbook staff was looking for new photographers. He shot a demo roll of 35mm film in a Pentax K1000 and was accepted into the class as a sports photographer. Fast forward 30 years, and he still finds himself on that exact same football field, doing the same thing.

Roger’s has carved a niche for his business, specializing in action sports, volume team and individual sports photography, and live event photography with on-site printing. He has also been commissioned to photograph book and magazine covers, as well as having his action sports photos grace the covers of local health and fitness magazines and has been a guest on several sports photography podcasts.

Roger is the photographer for the Memphis Redbirds, PBA’s annual bowling tournament in Jonesboro, AR, and covers numerous youth league and high school sporting events in the Mid-South. The upcoming 2020 season will mark his 10th year photographing Collierville High School Dragon football.

When not photographing, his wife runs the daily operations of their business, freeing Roger to work his daily grind with the Memphis Fire Department where he is their photographer, videographer, and UAS Program Manager heading up their drone program.
