Big Hill Pond State Park is a recognized dark sky location in Tennessee for stargazing and astronomy activities. Bortle rating 3.
We'll meet about 7:30 pm at Big Hill Pond State Park to set up cameras and get settings squared away before dark for Milky Way night sky photography. Sunset is at 7:59 pm, Milky Way rises about 10 pm with vertical around midnight.
Bring lawn chairs, snacks, bug spray, and plenty of water. There is primitive camping if you want to stay the night.
Gear: widest and fastest lens you have, tripod, and trigger release.
Danny Wilson will help get our settings for night sky photography.
