Photographer Barry Baskin to be MCC Guest Speaker
Photographer Barry Baskin will be guest speaker of the Memphis Camera Club (MCC) on August 17, 2017. A prolific photographer and avid traveler, Baskin is known for his candid portraits and picturesque photos of the many places he visits. Accompanied by his wife, Nadine, Baskin has been to 11 countries since 2015 including New Zealand, Slovakia, Australia and France.
Along the way, he has learned how best to melt into the environment and capture images that convey feelings of time and place. Baskin, an MCC member, will share his travel photography tips and techniques during his Aug. 17 presentation. His gallery at www.barrybaskin.com contains photos of Italy's colorful Cinque Terre, the battered and locked door to New Orleans' Preservation Hall, and a dark, forbidding sky decorated with rainbows arching above Ireland's prehistoric Newgrange monument. Among his favorite locales: Amsterdam and Paris.
MCC meetings are free and open to the public. For more information: http://memphiscameraclub.com/
